Spartan Soldiers train for Best Ranger competition

Wilson and 1st Lt. James Kinsey, of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-69 Armor are training to compete in the U.S. Army Best Ranger Competition at Fort Benning, April 13-15. BRC is an event where Ranger qualified, two-man teams compete in numerous physical and tactical lanes to earn the title of Best Ranger.

Combat team trains for invitational

Soldiers assigned to 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team receive grappling technique from Capt. Andrew Alterman, a chaplain assigned to 9th Engineer Battalion, 2nd ABCT, 3rd Infantry Division during a chaplain's inspirational combatives training session, Feb. 13 at Fort Stewart. The 3rd Inf. Div. Soldiers training in close quarters combatives level I, and the the Fort Stewart combatives team, were tasked with executing a series of instructed grappling techniques. The Fort Stewart combatives team will represent the 3rd ID in the upcoming Army combative championships at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Feb. 28 through March 3.

Special Troops Battalion Celebrates 100 Days

Marne Week - Racquetball

Marne Week is a celebration for Soldiers to compete in team sports and recreational group activities while honoring the division's service to the nation. This month marks the centennial anniversary of the Marne Division. Born out of World War I, the division has answered the nation's call for 100 years.

Marne Week - CSM Challenge

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan - Servicemembers leap over barbells during the first Marne Week event on Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Nov. 14. The event consisted of a series of physical and mental challenges, including barbell presses, deadlifts, completing puzzles, learning unit history and many other obstacles. Marne Week is an annual, week-long competition hosted in honor of the 3rd Infantry Division's birthday, this year is the unit's centennial.
